Riley's isn't completely decorated yet - we're still working on painting and everything but his bedding is Frogs & Turtles... I guess that would be his "theme." I found a couple dressers at thrift stores. A big one I painted green and put blue knobs on and a small one I painted white and put blue & green swirls on it. My friend painted a couple canvas's for him, one with a frog & one with a turtle. - For his playroom/guest bedroom I found bedding on clearance at Target that was mostly green with blue & yellow stripes running through it. Then I found curtains on clearance that match! So I painted two walls yellow (I found yellow "oops" paint @ Lowes for $2!!) & the other two are going to be blue. It's very exciting for me! I hope he likes it as much as I do!

I like color! My boys are currently sharing a room so we split the room in half and painted one side blue and orange for the Denver Broncos since that ds is named after John Elway; complete w/ DB bedding and decor. The other half of this room is black and red for the Chicago Bulls since that ds is named after Michael Jordan complete w/ CB bedding and decor. It works for me and them. DD's room is pink and white and is decorated in the princess them......I have a 900 sq ft den that is painted UT orange. It makes me feel warm and cozy when I go in there

dd has a fairy garden in her room...i got books from the library and she has a white picket fence along the wall( starts at baseboard height and goes to my waist) and then drew trees on with lots of branches...with squirrels, birds, a cat in one sitting on the branch, and fairies dancing in the trees on the branches...took almost a month to do it all( the trees even go up onto the ceiling) alas after 2 1/2 years of it she wants it to go(sob)...she will be 11 in a couple of weeks so she wants something different...so i will have to paint over it...i will take pictures to remember all the hard work i did( it was fun too).

Well currently all our girls share one room, and it's done in gross old icky 70's den decor We would paint it but it's very weird strange paneling that won't paint up right The only other "decor" is the bed coverings, and they all have their own style.

ETA: Before we moved the older girls room was done in purples/blues with butterflys. The younger girls room was done in primary colors with a rainbow painted across the walls (ala " Too Close for Comfort")

I did my boys' room in a nautical theme. Boats, anchors, lighthouses, pirate ships and it's all diffent shades of blue. I even made valances out of nautical fabric. I put grommets and the top and ran rope though it and attached it to the wall with cleats like you would use on a dock to tie up a boat. They're pretty cool if I do say so myself

I am not into themes or characters...so we've always just done simple neutral paint colors. We change bedding and room accessories when the mood strikes.
