Default I have spinach!

Granted it is about the size of my pinky nail but it is growing! Sow spinach early because it does not like the heat. A friend of my family actually plants her's in the fall and lets the seed set there all winter. She's been eating spinach (mind you it is covered) for about a month almost!

Mine is currently housed under milk jugs! I need to plant some more this week. I'm thinking I might try it this fall and see how it does as well. Nothing to lose!

Yeah!!

I planted a bed of lettuce and spinach but it must have washed away as nothing has happened yet. It did rain a lot and snow some after I planted it, so I am going to try again this week.

I was wrong! Today I went outside and suddenly there is both lettuce and spinach beginning to grow. Yeah!!!!!!

How long did it take for the spinich and lettuce to come up? I planted some yesterday and I want a salad NOW!

Check on the back of your package but I think mine said 45 days till you can eat. It took about 2 weeks before I saw it come out of the ground.
