Did you pay TOO much money for and it just did NOT work???

My dh thought he was be thoughtful one day and bought me a Dirt Devil Spot cleaner. I know it didn't cost that much money, maybe $30, but it does not work for anything. The only thing I find it useful for is when I clean the carpet with something else, I use it to suck up the excess water. Other than that, it does NOT clean my carpet.
