I like paint. Sometimes a wallpaper border up high where my kids can't reach is nice.

I like the faux painting techniques that have become popular lately. I've been colorwashing most of the walls I've repainted in this house. It seems to hide smudges from little hands better than just a single coat of paint. Especially in stairwells. Those get so dirty.

I definately love paint, but I do have a border in our bedroom and there is paneling on one wall in our livingroom that I would love to get rid of.
I'm not a big fan of full wall, wallpaper because when we bought our house we had to take it off of walls in 3 rooms, the paper was from the 60's.

We're in the process of painting our entire house right now. So far we've gotten the downstairs bathroom, dining room, kitchen & playroom done. Only 5 rooms & 2 hallways to go!

We love the look of paint, HATE to actually paint though! In the townhouse we had we remodeled our kitchen and painted it using the wooley, some kind of tool we got at Sears. We ended up using 3 or 4 different colors and it kind of had the textured look of wallpaper. I miss my old kitchen so much!

Here are a couple of pics:

Defintly paint, we had to take off wallpaper in almost every room when we moved in! It was all from the 60's and 70's!

Paint! Without a doubt! It's the most affordable way to change the look of a room and add impact and updating.

When we bought this house, we removed five rooms of wallpaper. We painted over old, dark paneling and dark brown-red brick. (if we'd had any construction background, we would've demolished it!) We also painted the dark wood ceilings. It made the house look so much larger and lighter.

Over the years, I've done several faux-finishing techniques, and used pricey protective top coats to make them last. Nevertheless, everything needs repainting after about 5 years. So, now I'm more interested in saving time and money, and just paint without adding any finishes. I stamped a border over glazed walls in my dd's room and then stamped their bed linens to match. Now, they want a "new style" : ( I'm going to make it easy on myself this time! lol

Paint- I will tell you that a wall paper border is very hard to get off of the wall.
