When we moved into our house it had very light yellow walls (see wall with mirror). We are putting in hardwoods in a few weeks but want to paint first. We'd like to go really bold but want to be able to sell the house at some point in the future. Our whole main floor is one room so if we choose this color, it would be the only color. We just painted one wall yesterday to see if we like it. We both love it but wonder if it's going just too bold. I'll post a poll so you can be honest without worrying about offending me. (I won't be offended.)

ETA: We live in a really small house so even though it's all one room, it's only 550 sq feet on this floor and one whole wall is covered by white kitchen cupboards and another wall by wall to wall bookshelves so there wouldn't be any full walls showing.

My mom painted their den that color, well, three walls. The fourth wall, she painted fire engine red

I think it looks great, but then I love bright, bold colors. I'm still going back and forth with DH about painting at least SOMETHING here - every wall is light beige, except his bathroom, which has yellow sponge paint. I want to paint my bathroom red and black

I think that yellow/goldenrod color is gorgeous!

It's way too bright for me...but that's me. I like some darker/bolder colors but they're not in the yellow family. LOL It really just comes down to personal taste. If you're trying to sell it in a few years and don't want to be repainting, you might consider a less bright color. Or you might just decide that you don't want to change it. There will be people that will walk thru your house and love it and folks that won't - but that goes for any color IMO.

It's too bold for me. One small room maybe, but not a whole floor. I would not like it if I was buying a house and it was all that color if you're thinking about resale. But then I'm sort of boring and traditional

I love it!!! I am into the bolder colors now. We remodeled our bathroom last and it is a bold green. The other colors in all the other rooms are white or pale colors. You can see how my taste has changed in 7 years.

I Love it too - But I Don't think think I would Like every Wall painted that color.
We also love color , and if its tastefully done I don't think it should be too Much Of A Selling Deterrent.

Our Downstairs is all Adjoining walls , and it was hard to Figure out Colors but we went with Different shades Of Browns and one Deep Red Wall.

We also Have lots of Trim - work , Which can soften up bolder Colors.
We have all White Trim and it Pulls the Colors together Nicely
