Our drywall project begins on Thursday. The finishing is the messiest part. I'm already dreading the drywall dust being on everything in the house. Our house was 100% paneling when we moved in. There was some wallpaper over it in some areas. After this project we have one more room to drywall (main bathroom). I hate drywall!!!

I agree with you on this one, we just got done dealing with this about 1 1/2 months ago and even if you cover everything with plastic and try to seal up other areas it still creeps its way into and onto everything.
I know as soon as we would take down one area and when it came time to sand the drywall compound I was using the shopvac to suck the dust up. Everyone was laughing at me because I would be right on their trail with the vac.

Are you doing it yourself? If so, you might consider wet-sanding the drywall. No dust. I switched to doing it that way after we moved into our house. There are special sponges you use. You just keep dunking them in a pail of water, squeezing them out, and sanding - all the dust goes into the sponge, then into the water. It is slower going than with dry sanding (but if you consider there is no dust to clean up - it might come out about the same).

We're paying someone to finish it. We tried to do our basement and had someone fix it for us. We also tried the basement bathroom and it didn't turn out well. My hubby said he had enough of it and is paying someone to do it. That is one thing he lets the professionals handle.

I will be on the shop vac cleanup as we go!! Thanks for the tips
