My drapes were $100 to dry clean and need a light blocking alternative.

We just had solar shades put on our house. I love them. I can tell the difference in the amount of heat that does/doesn't come in our house. They keep the house dark but that's okay. They helped us with not turning the AC on the other day when it hit 96. I love them

I don't remember the name of the company. It's a very small one. We kept getting flyers on our doors. So when we were ready we called some of the companies for estimates. We paid $1400 for ours but then we have a 2 story house and we chose very high quality screen. There are several different levels of screens and colors too. So that can make the prices vary.

I did get online and do a quick search of companies and several popped up for Texas. But it wasn't to hard to find them online. Most do free estimates and always try to talk them down. The guys that did ours wanted $1800 but my husband got him down to $1600 and said he would have to talk to me. I said I would have them do it if they could go down to $1400. And they did

Oh I forgot to add in that we had our sliding doors tinted so we wouldn't have to deal with the screens on both sides. I know HomeDepot had some solar screens online so you could do it yourself. I hope this was of some help...

I'm sorry. I just realized you were talking about shades and I was talking about screens. Sorry about that. I'm having one of those days.
