Did you know that we see colors with our hearts-- not our heads--they have the power to put us in a variety of moods.
Colors: Ambers, peaches, corals -- spark appetites and electrify.
Lemon, jasmine, Golden yellows unleash creativity.
Green soothes and connects us to nature.
Pacifying colors: Blue, green and purple are cooling, calming,
reenergizing.
Neutralizers are the "noncolors": Browns, beiges, grays and
whites neither activate nor pacify.
White brings out openness, airiness and expansive spirit.
Activating colors: Yellow, orange, red move forward, warming, cheering and inspiring. Pink would fall in this category also.
Black is the absence of color. It can be serious and conventional. The color black can also be mysterious, s*e*x*y, and sophisticated.
What one color do you decorate with often?
Does it describe you?

Reason: Added pink and black to the list.

Neat! I decorate with greens, browns/tans, purples, and blues. I would say green is the most recurring color though. Maybe that's why I'm so laid back

To answer my own question. My signature color is green, I use different shades of it throughout my home with splashes of purple, light cornflower blue and rosey pink.
Green does describe me because I love nature and being outside and the rooms that it is used in do seem to relax you.

Yellow and orange are the most common colors of late. Previously, it was maroon/crimson.

Would you believe part of the reason I'm not movitated to redecorate is I cannot pick a favorite color scheme? I have way too many color combinations I like and they are all vastly different.
Our house was decorated beautifully when we bought it but it's starting to age and I'd like to personalize it our way.
I save pictures of things I like but think I am going to end up getting paint samples and thinking hard about what the color will convey. So many choices

Colors have a strange effect on me!!
My house is mostly neutral--beige to gold to a darker toasted wheat color. I knew exactly what color I needed the walls to be, and had to mix the color myself using different paints b/c I couldn't find a brown with enough gold in it to relax me!! Most larger accessories (sheers, rugs, etc) are various versions of sage green, which I seem to need. I also have plants everywhere. Almost all of my smaller accesories (pillows, candles, etc) are deep red. I need that too!
Now this is weird--any blue in my house drives me nuts. I love it in other peoples homes, but here, it doesn't relax me. We have a slate floor in our bathroom with lots of blue in it (put in by the previous owners) and though it is pretty and I would love it in someone else's house, I feel uptight every time I go in there.
Hmmm...I'm sure there's a psychology to it!!!

Thats pretty interesting. My living room is decorated with greens, while my bathroom and bedroom is blues. We plan on redecorating this summer, and I totally had planned on keeping the same colors, just working around them.

hmmmm.... I guess I must be all over because although I use mostly brown toned furniture, I seem to have a different color scheme in most rooms...I guess that means that I am just crazy then...LOL
Lets see...
living room is mostly browns with black, green and red accents
kitchen is marroon reds and golden yellows
bathroom 1: golden yellow and deep red as well (just off of kitchen)
bathroom 2: light blues and light pinks (with a dolphin theme)
master bedroom: browns and light and dark greens- definitely has the calming effect
DD bedroom: orangish brown, and pinks
