We all know that a mirror is there to reflect, but be careful what you reflect. If it’s hanging on a dining room wall you don’t want it to reflect dirty dishes in the kitchen. With a hallway mirror you don’t want a view of the bathroom.
Here are some ideas for using mirrors:
-Instead you might want to place it across from a source of light, a favorite painting or window. Putting one above a mantel, adds to the light and makes the room appear larger.
-A collection of small mirrors on a wall.
-Different shapes and sizes or even a theme.
-A miror on a mirror.
-Stagger mirrors.
-A mirror at the end of a hallway/stairway makes it appear longer.
-Placed behind a sofa, start with a larger mirror and hang smaller ones around it.
-You can multiply candles, flowers, etc. by joining together several mirrors with butt hinges and placing
them behind the objects on a mantle or table.
-Placed in the back of display shelves to help show off you collections or figurines.
-Put a mirror on the ceiling of kitchen cabinets or pantry, to see what’s on that top shelf or to locate items on deep shelves.
-Mirrors can also be used a table décor, put in the center of your table with an arrangement of flowers.
My all-time favorite tip is: Bronze-tinted mirrors have “magical qualities”, the bronze tint makes the reflection more appealing. We look younger and healthier with a bronze mirror!!
