How do you do it? Years ago I had a nice big yard sale and I remember the house being a disaster. I have no place to store my stuff other than the attic and the attic is already packed with stuff that needs to be sold or donated. How do I keep the house clean and how do I get the energy to get this yard sale started?

I know this sounds crazy...but I don't do yard sales. If I have items to sell...I give them to a charity. I also do not shop for things at yard sales. If we cannot afford it, I do not buy it. There are far more impulse buys at yard sales than actual needs.

Thats JMO...I know it doesn't work for everyone.

Can you just set up in your garage as you go? We never park cars in our garage anyway. I also tend to leave the stuff out there and have the sale for a couple of weekends.

The garage is the problem actually! DH has too much junk in the garage and says there is nowhere to put anything so I can't get that cleaned out to have room. That's why it was going to be a yard sale instead of garage sale.

I have decided I'm going up into the attic and I'll have to work up there and go through the stuff to see what is even worth selling and the rest is going straight to Goodwill. I've gotta get my butt in gear so I'm starting tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck!!!!

It would be less stressful to donate it and get a receipt! The write off does help.
