They talk about community gardens or sharing a plot with another family that has space that you might not. And in theory it seems like a great idea? But does it work? Or how did you make it work? I've heard of horror stories of one family doing all the work and the other family taking all the food.

Has anyone ever done this? And if you did how did it go and do you have any suggestions to make it work.

When we lived in married student housing when my dh was in college (18 yrs ago) they had a community garden plot. Everyone got their own spot in it (if they wanted it) We had fun with it back then.

Never done this, but I don't see why it couldn't work if everyone had their own little spot to work.

But if the cost had to be split and the work it takes to tend the garden and the produce had to be split, I could see where it could become a big problem, and I'm not sure if I would agree to that or not.

I would have to know how honest and what kind of work ethics the people I was sharring the space with had.
