I have a white sink and I am constantly trying to keep it stained free.

If you have a white enamel or porcelain sink what do you use to take away the stains and make it shine again?

Use soft scrub with bleach. It works WONDERFULLY and gets the stains out and makes it shine!!

I have a mix of borax and baking soda in an big spice bottle....and I sprinkle it on like comet, and scrub my sink with it. It's not abrasive, but works really well.

Before I stopped using so many chemicals in the house I would fill it up and put bleach in the water for about an hour. Then I would scrub it really good. That seemed to work. I've also done it with oxy clean instead of bleach. (kind of like the flylady method)

Now that I am trying not to use so many earth unfriendly stuff, I just use baking soda, like you would use comet. It doesn't work as well, but it works good enough for me.

I put some bleach in the sink, fill it up with water and let it soak for a bit. I also do this with my white porcelin tub, works great! Easy and cheap to do!

I just wanted to let you know that using bleach full strength can etch your surface of the porcelain and actually turn it yellow. Be careful with bleach.

I only use less than a cupful. Plus I only do it when the sink is REALLY bad, so every few months. And don't forget that my sink is also over 50 years old so I don't care if it does turn yellow. ROFL If it were newer, I'd be more worried.

My bathroom tub on the other hand, forget it!! That sucker is SO bad. There is NO finish left on it. The previous owners were old school, they built this place over 50 years ago. They used tons of harsh cleaners on it. The tub has tiny little scratches all over that no amount of bleach, cleaners, and magic erasers can get. In my next life, I'm buying a new house!!

I used to squirt my white sink with a little bit of dishwasher detergent and scrub.
