ROMANTIC?

Is it time to evaluate it? The romantic bedroom is suppose to appeal to all 5 senses.

1. Touch - Mattress and pillows should be comfy.
2. Sight - Soft low wattage or pink hue lights. Even adding candles.
3. Smell - Wiping your light bulbs with a thin coat of perfumed oil, having
scented sachets.
4. Sound - Keep some of your favorite CD's handy, soft music to elevate the
mood.
5. Taste - Place strawberries & whipped cream on a small tray next to the
bed. Having some champagne and glasses handy also helps.

What decor makes your bedroom romantic?

I would love to know how to make my bedroom more romantic. I had this novel idea of baby blue and dark dark brown. But it makes the room look too "cool". We have light blue walls (ocean mist or something) and white and brown tiles. Bed, TV stand, and jewelry box - that's it. Any suggestions that aren't too girly?

Sight: Ours has our queen size bed with mismatched sheets and blankets. 2 nightstands, a chest of drawers, 2 baby beds (one for each twin), 1 pack and play (for the newborn), and a TV mounted on the wall (like in a hospital, not the expensive kind...LOL). The wall color is from the original owners (even though we have owned it for 11 years), and tan carpet.

Sound: nothing like 3 sleeping babies

Touch: everything is fresh and comfortable, mattress is only a few years old

Taste: I have a few snacks in there for when I am up nursing the baby (not to share with the hubby) and a micro-mini fridge to hold drinks for me while nursing (it holds six cans or 4 water bottles).

Smell: well since the 3 kids we share the room with are all still in diapers, we won't talk about the smells, since there is a small garbage can in our room.....LOL

Not too romantic, but it gets the job done!!

I would say the my bedroom is romantic enough! I have a huge high bed, cherry wood with a leather insert on the head board. A big tall dresser with an oval mirror. My comforter and sheets are from Waverly Vintage Rose Collection. Candles, because I love the smell. Everything is cozy...must be romantic since we have a baby on the way!

IMO our bedroom feels most romantic when it is clean and the bed is made! We have mismatched furniture and a treadmill in our room, but it is still romantic if our bed is made, clothes picked up and put away and the tops of our dressers are organized.

Our bedroom isn't so much romantic as it is comfortable. I feel peace when I'm in there and it's really relaxing! It can be made to be romantic though! No issues there!

LOL!

Ours had a LONG way to go to be romantic. It has the bed, DH nights stand, two dressers, a TV and VCR, a stack of taxidermy videos (LOL), and a gun safe. The walls, floors, everything is painted tan - the floors are just luan board. It's UGLY.

I want to paint at least, but DH is hesitant about that. I'm working on him, very slowly!

I did a little searching and here is some info. that I found that could be helpful. Blue is a color that makes time pass more quickly and it can help you sleep, it is a color that is good for bedrooms, just don't use too much or it can dampen spirits. Blue is a year around color, pastel blues along with pinks and pale yellow suggest Springtime.

Mix the color of blue with green for a natural palette. You can add gray for understated elegance. Light browns, tans or beige. White will give a fresh, crisp feeling. Metallic accents for a rich appearance.

Dark brown can replace black, adding a slightly warmer tone.

You could use white curtains, drapery. Pillows in solid white, blue, tan or with prints, but soft and try to use cordinatiing colors, refrain from having pillows with ruffle edges so it's not so girly.

You can add silver candle holders, IMO that doesn't speak girliness.

Hope this helps!

Our bedroom decor is semi-romantic.

Touch - We have a comfy pillow top mattress and good pillows. Decent sheets may not always match. I do have a nice fluffy comforter.

Sight - I do use low wattage bulbs, but that just what the lamps call for. I do have candles in our room, I don't think I have actually lit them, more for smell and decor.

Smell - My luck if I rubbed oil on the light bulbs I would start a fire. I do you liquid potpourri and dried in glass containers.

Sound - If snoring counts then I have that covered.

Taste - Nothing on the night stands, but I do have extra stored away snacks in the closet, so I guess that sorta counts!
