clean stainless steel appliances?

I read in a magazine were you shouldn't spend a lot of money on cleaners, just use WD-40.

Does anybody do that or what do you use?

On stainless steel doors, after they were cleaned I wiped them with baby oil (LITTLE AMOUNTS) and they sparkled...
