What I mean by this is:

Does your DH/SO and kids have their own color for backpacks, notebooks, toothbrushes, towels, or anything else that gets mixed up easily?

This is also Step 9 of -Get organized. This definately is helpful in the bathroom, for my family we all have our favorite color for the toothbrush.

That would be a big no. We're way too disorganized for that I'll be interested to see if others do though!

My sister does this with her kids... mostly by them asking for their color!

The oldest is blue (she's a tom boy!) the middle is pink (girly, girl!) and the youngest is purple (princess!)

So far we just have the 3 of us so we've not had to do that yet.

I say my kids have "signature" colors but I don't use them all the time. It just makes it easier when buying beach towels and those types of things. If I'm coordinating outfits for the girls I usually buy it in "their" color. The oldest girl is pink, my little boy is boy and the baby girl is yellow. The colors suit them anyway.

I make sure dh always has a red toothbrush, just so he won't use mine. When the girls were in school and living with us I had colors for them. It made things a little easier as far as them not fighting over what was who's.

We don't color code towels or anything like that... the only rule we have is that my and DH's toothbrushes have to be different colors so he doesn't use mine!

I do! My boys are blue, green & red. I use these colors when writing appointments on the calendar. That way I can tell at a glance if it's blue it's my oldest sons event. Generally I use Orange for an event that includes more than one of us (Party we're all invited to, etc) and I use black for DH & Pink for me!

As for toothbrushes, if I buy them some from Santa they get their colors, if they get the free ones, they get what they get.

I also use these colors for their photo albums. I try to incorporate these colors anytime I can.

I don't usually dress them in their colors, although last week to church they all wore khaki pants, brown shoes & their blue, green & red polos! But they all have a TON of polos and I just did it that way this once.

Isn't it funny how you and your DH or SO can have different color toothbrushes, but somehow they can still manage to grab the wrong one! LOL
