My husband worked so hard to get the window ready for me to hang up my drapes today. We got the rod up, unwrapped the drapes and found out that they looked tie-dyed on the back panel. The white backing on the drapes was streaked with burgandy die from the curtains. I'm horrified. The curtains were $100 and are only 1 year old. I paid $50 to have them cleaned. I'm taking them back tomorrow but don't expect any refund. Even if I get a refund for the cleaning I doubt they'll pay for my drapes

Otherwise it was a good Mother's Day!

How awful! Lately I've been hearing a lot of horror stories about the dry cleaner. I'm sorry about your drapes.

Is it local or a chain? Complain until you get what you want. Inform the BBB if you have alot of problems or I would anyways because they ruin your stuff and do'nt take responsibility for it!

I don't think it is a chain. The man that waited on me didn't speak English well so I'm a bit concerned about working this out.

They cleaned the curtains for my daughter's room, too. They are not discolored but they are horribly wrinkled and the pleats are crooked.

I've been looking for a replacement for the tie-dyed curtains and will be sure they are machine washable!

curtains are so expensive and it takes me forever to find ones that I actually like and go with the room..... so sorry yours are ruined. maybe it will go better than you think. remind him of your "position" in the community and that you have a GREAT mouth, whether it be telling people good or bad things.
did you sign anything? I remember when I took dd's flower girl dress in I had to sign saying if they ruined it they were not responsible... good ethics??!!

I didn't sign anything but I can't find the receipt. What a huge bummer. I think I will ask my hubby to take them in for me. I am afraid I'll lose my temper and don't want the children see me go to jail

I don't blame you for being mad, I would be totally irrate also. The cleaners should of known if they would bleed and made you aware of that. The cleaners we have always tells you what can happen before you go ahead with the cleaning.
