you have sick family members?

It seems that there has been a lot of MS members that have been dealing with sickness lately.

What is your sanitizing routine to stop the sick bug from spreading?

I don't do anything different than my normal cleaning routine. We've never had a problem of someone getting sick and then others in the family getting sick...we're lucky in that we rarely get sick in general.

Yeah same here. I don't go around crazy with the lysol can. With 3 boys, I'd be non-stop just cleaning. We just do our normal weekly cleaning, and practice good hygene and wash hand after everything.

If it's something really yucky like a stomach virus...I'll wipe down the door knobs, fridge handles, phones, light switches...etc....so no one is re-infected.

with the poster above - if it's something I feel is highly communicable I'll do an extra round with the Lysol or Clorox wipes. I do the bathroom extra carefully, including faucet handles, door knobs and light switches. Then move on to the other common areas, doing pretty much the same items. Also the computer keyboards.

I tried the following this winter but it didn't seem to help keep us any healthier:

- change the sheets as much as necessary
- wash the sheets in hot water
- change the hand towels even twice a day
- wipe down door handles, faucets, remote, etc.
- rinse toothbrushed in hot water each day and replace after illness
- replace drinking glasses after each meal
- open windows to air out

Oh well, may be next winter will be better.

We kept having a bout of the stomach bug last fall/winter...and I washed any bedding, towels, etc. that had come into contact w/the sick person(s). I wiped down very well with the wipes on the doorknobs, phones, light switches, remotes, scrubbed sinks and toilets extra well.

I Don't Do anything Out of the Ordinary either.
I Lysol Door handles and Light switches about Once a Week With Cleaning And I Keep the bathrooms clean.

We Rarely Get Sick and If one person Does , Everyone Else Doesn't.

I also think Its Just as Easy to Catch Germs at home from a Sick Person as it is Out in Public-So Over Discenfecting Your house may not do anything.
Germs Are everywhere!

We do alot Of Hand washing , and I Have Hand sanatizer everywhere- So the Kids And I Use that Alot.
I think thats About the Best Protection you can Get - Germ Free Hands!
