My allergies are TERRIBLE today and I feel like doing NOTHING. How do you motivate yourself to clean or keep up with any kind of household duties (cooking) when you don't even feel like standing up?

Well dh will do the cooking, but the cleaning part is up to me.

There is just two of us plus buddy, so things don't get to bad if I have to go a day without cleaning.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I don't do jacksh-t if I'm sick. That's when DH has to step it up and take care of me!

I will not cook, just do something quick

as far as cleaning, I like a "clean" house, so I will tidy up what is in my eye sight, take a clorax throw away wipe thingy and wipe down the counters and call it quits!

I only do just enough, so I am not behind. I'll do dishes, laundry and make sure things are picked up, that's about it. Cooking maybe, but dh is usually good about helping out.

Feel better soon!

Boy, this post couldn't have hit closer to home! I've been sick since Monday morning with allergies/sinus/ear infection, and my house is showing it! I've been going to work everyday, so by the time I get home all I want to do is crawl in a hole. I've made sure the dishes were washed everynight, but thats it! So of course, my goal for tomorrow is to 1. FEEL BETTER!!! and 2. Pick up the slack!

Here's to hoping we all feel better!

Just finally feeling back to normal today and my house shows it! DH did help a bit with dishes and taking care of the girls. I am behind in my schedule now though so I'm going to be anal about it tonight and get cleaning.

Well it depends, if I have a slight fever / cold then yes I will do a little cleaning such as spraying disinfectant on the door knobs, fridge handle, toilet, light switches and whatever I touch around the house so no one else gets sick. If Im barfing and sick with the flu...well I dont do a darn thing except lie there and wait for things to get better. (Yet I will still disinfect with my trusty Oust spray...lol)
I have my husband take care of me and he would prepare something for me to eat for dinner as well as my son and himself. I dont expect him to clean and tend to everything (as I do) But at least he will help out.
