Since the other thread talks about decluttering the coffee/end tables, when you do have them clean and can use them.....

Do you like to use coasters so you don't have water ring marks?

Also when you have company over do you request that they use the coasters or not say anything if they don't?

We don't use them. But we don't really have many drinks in the living room. Also, we are weird, but we don't drink our drinks cold!! Our lemonade, pop and water sit out and we drink them at room temperature!!! Oh, plus we don't have company

Pre-DD we had coasters out and we used them. If our guests didn't well that was okay.. we have glass coffee and end tables. We haven't had coasters now since DD became able to pull up, as they became her chew toys and she bit one so hard it broke the plastic part. so the answer to the question is that no we don't have them. If we were to get new end tables and coffee table that were wood I might get some more, but for now we don't have any...I am just very diligent on cleaning up glass rings.

We do. I have an antique coffee table DH Uncle passed down to us and I'd be devestated if I were the cause of ruining it. DH and I just got 2 new endtables to match up the color as well and I'll be darned if they get ruined in the first year. Luvcily coasters are just habit my parents insisted on them when we were growing up and DH mom did as well (or a folded napkin at worst case scenario ).My kitchen table is a tile top, so I don't worry about coasters at the dinner table.

OH yeah...we use coaster for ALL surfaces.

I am the same way. I don't bother guest with the coasters since I will clean after they leave.
