Last night I made a snake out of one of my husband's old ties. I had this project in mind for a long time and I finally got around to it. The instructions I followed were very poorly written, but I managed to figure it out. The snake has a fleece tongue (piece of Christmas stocking leftovers), button eyes and a grey yarn knot nose.

Creative way to recycle ties! Now, if I could only sew - this would have tken me a week, not a night, lol.

Good job!

Love it! I should try that with one of my husband's old ties.

I know of a woman that collected ties and made a quilt out of them. There actually is a pretty decent amount of frabic in them!

Thanks.

One of my absolute favorite bulletin boards is a turkey, with his tail made from men's ties.

I'm looking for old silk ties to do egg coloring with this easter. My hubby saw the instructions on a show and I SOOOOO wanna do 'em! lol

My mom had a collection of really awesome vintage ties, about 75. She was going to make a skirt out of them. I am really bummed that I forgot to take them from her house before the estate sale.
