What projects are you looking at this summer?

Are they outside? Inside?

Our first one is putting up a fence (outside). We are already working on this. Hopefully we will get our old shed torn down and a new one built. I am going to repaint and re-decorate the main floor bathroom. We may lay down paving stones and make a new patio in the back yard also.

Our projects have been severly curtailed by the surgery my dh is having in June. He will not be able to do much 2 months afterwards

We're painting the rest of the house (inside - 2 bedrooms and bathroom), putting a deck on the back of the house, and putting a small porch on the front. Oh, and there's talk of doing it all this weekend. My FIL is a little crazy with his son coming home from Germany on leave for a few weeks.

Removing some hideous wallpaper that is up in almost 1/2 the house, than texturing the walls and painting. I will also be repainting all three kids rooms as well. Outside, 1/2 our front yard got dug up last summer because pipes had to be replaced so we will be planting grass down on that.

  • Repainting the interior of the house, or about half of it.
  • Purging and reorganizing the garage and the storage room.
  • DH is going to re-stain and seal the deck and slurry the driveway.
  • Youngest DD gets a "room makeover", so I'm on the hunt for Hawaiian themed decor for her.
  • Steam cleaning the carpet.
.

Geez. I'd better get started!

Ooh I just saw some stuff while I was surfing online!

Hibiscus Flower Table Skirt (this would be so cute around a side table or even used as a window valance!)

there's this one too - look at the bottom of the above website where it says "you may also like" and you'll see it.

both colors are available in long/short (and also in orange).

If you dont' want to be so bold, you could always do a tropical/island theme and put a few touches of Hawaii here and there. A print of a tropical/island view, a few leis draped over a lamp, etc. Rattan furniture is very tropical and they have the heavy duty rattan outdoor furniture. Stick a bold big flowery cushion on it. If I think of more, I'll post again.

My oldest dd's bedroom.
Yesterday we put up new blinds. Next month we are going to paint, new carpet and rearrange (toy box downstairs, and desk upstairs).

We're moving! That is our biggest project. I'll probably be painting all summer, as the new house has dark red and green walls that are screaming for a light golden sand color! And my boys can't seem to get past their new bedrooms' lavendar and pink walls!

Our main project is our flower garden. It's been neglected since we've had littles and I've been really sick. So this summer it's our family job to get it cleaned up and ready to begin using half of it for a herb/veggie garden!

Now I have hopes that dh will begin painting the outside of the house..we've been talking about it for awhile now..we're going to get rid of the dark drabby colors. Oh and I'm going to begin peeling wallpaper in my kitchen and slowly purchase my candy apple red paint!
