first thing you do for cleaning?

Examples:

-Make the beds.
-Vacuum the carpets.
-Sweep the kitchen floor or sweep it under the rug.
-Gather everything on the floor and throw it into the nearest closet.
-Don't answer the door they must of phoned somebody else and was meant to visit them!

DH has a line he says whenever someone walks in. "Welcome to our house, it's lived in." We don't keep the house spotless by any means but it is usually in a lived in-drop in okay condition.

I definately have a drop in house. If you drop in, you get what you get.

My only problem with the poll is I couldn't choose more than one!

Actually, I get up every morning and clean both bathrooms and sweep all of the floors and make up my bed before I leave.

It is just dh and I so my house is pretty much "company ready" all of the time.

I do lay out my "fancy" towels in the bathroom when I know we are having guests!

Probably just a little toy cleanup. Otherwise I keep a neat & tidy den.

How does that work with kids? Aren't kids always coming over, their parents stopping by to pick them up, etc? I was just wondering because my neighbor has a pretty crazy house and I think her kids just DON'T have friends over. I feel like I have really had to step up my game now that people are constantly in and out of the house because of the kids.
