How often do friends drop by unexpectedly?
It happens all the time to us but we welcome it. People often apologize and say, "We were just out for a walk. Or we happened to be in the neighborhood". We always tell people they can drop by any time so when we do we are happy to see them and invite them in.
We noticed when we lived out west (in BC) this never happened. Not once in the 3 years we lived there. We started to wonder if it was a regional difference.

We live in a rural area so we don't have many walkers pop-in. The nlaws drop in unexpectedly several times a week. A few of my husband's buddies stop by unexpected every now & then. When my kids are older, I won't mind as much but right now it is a pain if you put your child down for a nap and some knocks on the door and makes the dog bark. Otherwise, I don't mind.

I don't like it but only because I don't like for anyone to see me if I am not dressed or to see my house if it's a mess.
We don't get many people that just stop by, only my bil's girlfriend. Otherwise most people just know to call first. I don't care if it's just a 10 minute heads up, if just want to know you are comeing.

We often have family drop by but most of our friends don't really. Sometimes they might but rarely.

All of the time!
We always have family stoping by. And dh restores old cars, but people will just stop by off of the street to look at them. This part I ain't to crazy about
I really don't mind, people stoping in. But sometimes supper time is a little weird. I can't tell you how many times I have to put our orginial supper back into the ref. and throw hamburgers on the grill. (I always keep several boxes of angus burgers in the freezer just for this very reason).

It happens occasionally to me, but not that often. I see my close friends every week, but normally it's a planned "come over at ___ time" or we meet up for lunch, get our nails done, get coffee, go to the library together type thing. I don't mind my friends stopping by though! Not at all! No biggie!

We don't get too many drop-in visitors - we live a ways out from most of our friends, and while my family lives fairly close, everyone who knows us knows that we keep erratic schedules, and so they want to be sure we're going to be home before coming over.
It doesn't bother me when it does happen, though, as long as they're not interrupting couple time.

Rarely! I would LOVE to have people drop by, but then again I'm VERY glad they don't. I would die if they saw my living room/playroom on most days! And if they need to use the bathroom... I rarely use our guest bathroom, but my boys (5 & 3 years old) do. I never know what it looks like. My friend drops off my son everyday after Pre-K and the days she needs to use the bathroom (she's pregnant and can't always wait to get home) I cringe hoping the boys have at least flushed... Of course I just re-decorated their bathroom (new shower curtain, towels, etc) and I use it more now, so maybe I wouldn't worry so much!

I would love it if people would pop over. It was a sign of a simpilier time I think 30 years ago, you'd have people just come unexpectedly....
