For me personally , I Gave that up Yrs. Ago.
I Used to Feel I Had to Have the house Cleaned up and a Meal ready When Dh got home.
Well His Job Scedule ended all that. But even now when I Know He Will Be home a Certain Time... I Try to have dinner Ready even if the House is a Mess ... Cause I can Get him to Watch the Kids While I Clean Up.

I Don' t Worry too Much about What is Done.

Yeah, I usually have it done by the time dh gets home, but I don't worry about it if I don't. Dh and the boys do the dishes and pick up the kitchen after dinner, so if there is anything else that needs to get done, I do it then.

I guess how you get it done depends on the age of the kid. Now my DD is 15 months and nothing happens till DH comes. I cook and clean after he comes, though I try really hard to finish before he comes, so we can spend family time.

If she goes for school or something, I will be more than happy to get things done before she or DH comes home.

Ideally, yes. With a 2 year old and a 1 year old, some days it is possible, others the thought is laughable. Thank goodness for an understanding husband who can stand a messy house

Yes, but ... with hubby's travel schedule my push to get everything done is a weekly effort (at best), not a daily activity.

Nope! Well, I am only a SAHM in the summer, but it is not possible! I clean whenever. Dh does not expect anything particular from me housekeeping wise either. He knows that if he wants something done that isn't done he can do it himself. Plus he works at home 2 days a week. He knows that I am rarely home during the day!

I try to, yes. He gets off earlier right now, so it's a little harder. And some things are just easier to clean without M "helping" so I wait until he's home and can occupy her.

Most of the time, yes. I try to get the cleaning started before we have an activity in the morning and finish during nap time. I always have dinner either done or close to it by the time dh gets home. The kitchen is not sparkling, but dh or I clean it up after dinner.
We try to have family time after dinner, especially this time of year when we can go outside, so I don't want to be tied down by cleaning I haven't finished.
I also try not to clean on the weekends, beside general duties, to give myself a break and we can focus on relaxing.

Yes, once dh is home and dinner is cleaned up we all relax. There is no way I want to be still "working" when dh is clocked out for the day.

Dh works alot so when he is home I try to be "off" work too, with the usual cleaning and shopping stuff done before he is home.

Most of the time I wait for him to get home to make supper though. We grill a lot and he is in charge and that is "our" time to talk without the girls underfoot.
