I've always grown a garden but have never canned. My mom did all the time when I was growing up. Well, this year I decided I'm going to can my own things. Since jars are expensive in the store, I've trying to scout them out at garage sales. Everybody and his brother must be canning this year because I can't find any even when they advertise them.

Dh and dd had the day off today and I saw an ad in the paper a sale advertising canning jars. Dh went and checked it out and for $10.00 (the price of a dozen pints new in the store) I got over 100 quarts, pints and jelly jars!!!! I am so excited! I can't wait to start canning now.

I'm thinking about canning also. I would love to find something like that deal.

That's great! I am going to attempt canning for the first time this year.

Wow that was an awesome deal. I already have the jars - been wanting to can for years. I don't think I will even need close to the nubmer of jars I have though - the garden doesn't seem to be doing as well as I would like. Can't wait to hear about your canning experience. I love hearing about how everyone's garden is doing.
