This is what happens when DH takes a week off from work - need I say more that he was getting bored being at home and came up with quite a few projects!

After being in our house for 15 years we are finally in the progress of taking the dark wood paneling off of our one walls in our livingroom. I am just so thankful that the previous owners only put it on the one wall.
Taking the paneling down was easy, dealing with the black glue has been another ordeal!
Here are a couple of pics:

One piece of paneling off:

Here we are putting the sheetrock primer on, don't use just love the flower the previous owners made with the black glue!

I will post pics. as we make progress!

So how is this coming along?

We have paneling in our laundry room only, the previous owners put it up when they converted it from a garage to a laundry room. I had my Dad paint it right after we moved in.

This turned into a 4 week project, but then we also didn't work on it steady either, we have been so busy this month.
So far we have done and thank goodness they only had this on one wall, but it was about 6 pieces of paneling we have taken down.
We then had to chisel and sand the black glue off which the put in swirly strips up and down the wall.
Then the wall had to be washed of the black dust.
All holes were filled in, the wall primered with sheetrock primer, then we ended up texturing the whole wall to hide the strips of glue and it did do a nice job of it, but the texturing was a pain in the butt, it all had to be done by hand instead of machine, since it is a lived in house with furnishings.
After we got that done early last week we needed a break.
The only thing we have left is to paint it now.
I will have to get some new pics. up

I missed this post the first time around.

Don't ya love that paneling?

We did not remove ours, we put the drywall right over it. I had paneling in EVERY ROOM in this house. There was no drywall behind the paneling, just studs and insulation.

Can't wait to see the updates... good luck

Yea, really love the paneling, NOT!!

We also had it down in our familyroom, but that was nailed on and the good thing is that we no longer have it in that room because when our downstairs got flooded last August, that got ruined (Darn - ) and had to come out (Horray - )!
