We don't...it's huge and it would take all day long to water it! LOL! We only water the grass if we've planted new grass that needs to be watered, otherwise, we just let it rain. We don't have a problem with dead/brown grass, so it works for us!
Right now we are in rainy season, so not at all! In dry season (Jan, through about May) I do it once a week if it looks brown. We actually are on water restrictions b/c of a drought, so we only get 1 or 2 assigned days to water. I don't water my flowering plants extra either bc I only will put in drought tolerant plants.
Never. Have never needed to. Not when we had over 5 acres, and not now that we have a tiny yard.
I am wondering if it depends more on your climate? I live in Michigan. My grass is green, and grows plenty fast. My son mows it once a week.

We've never watered our lawn because having a perfect lawn isn't one of our priorities. Plus with the drought last year and this year, it makes no sense to waste water watering lawns and I really get annoyed seeing people that do.
But I must add that our kids do love playing with the garden hose and their sprinkler so parts of the yard do get watered once or twice a week.
