I know it's a bit late for planting flowers, but there are usually bargains out there now. I just went to Lowe's and their clematis vines are marked down to 2.99. They also are stocking native plants now, they were't on sale but I bought some anyway. They should do well without much care and hopefully the deer won't eat them. Also, they have shade trees and flowering trees half off.

Right now is a great time to buy reduced plants and sure you may not have them flower this season, but next season you definately will have great plants with flowers. It's also not too late to do planting of them because they will take ahold in the ground they have planty of time to settle in (sort of speak).

I always add to my perennial garden this time of year when things start to go on sale/clearance. I got some great lily's last year after they had bloomed and they are GORGEOUS right now!
