Did you know your household sponges should be cleaned at least every other day?

A sponge that’s been in use for no more than two or three days in a kitchen will harbor millions of bacteria.

How often and how do you clean your sponges?

The only sponge I use really is my kitchen sponge, for pots/pans, cleaning the kitchen sink and wiping off my stovetop. I run mine through the dishwasher, every time I do a load, which is typically daily. I rinse it out, and wring it out as much as possible after each use and often it dries, which prevents bacteria growth. I also replace the sponge with a new one every month.

I dont use them too often because I think even when you wash them, they still stink. If I do use one, it is only for about a week and in the trash it goes.
