I use it every other day and wonder if maybe that is too much.

I would say that can't be good. I would ease off a bit.

I use mine probably 3 or 4 times a week. As long as your not using to much at one time I don't think it's a big deal.

I weaned myself off those type of products. If something smells I think it needs a deep cleaning to get rid of the smell and not cover it up.

I use it because I like the scent it leaves behind, not because my things smell bad.

This is me too. I guess I should have clarified!

It's part of my cleaning ritual. I tidy up the toys, put away the blankets (the kids use daily for forts), straighten the couch, vacume, etc etc and then FEBREZE the area to make it smell nice.

I also should mention, that when I said every other day, I meant every 2-3 days. I don't use it every other day.....that would be a little excessive!

Actually, I do use it every single day, on my couch.

We have a little boston, who during the day loves to sleep on the couch. And even though I give him a bath once a week, dogs still have a doggy smell (can you believe that ) so i do spray off the couch every night before I go to bed.

I don't spray so much that the couch is soaking wet!

I'd be really careful. We have friends who started using febreeze in their son's room every few days. After the second time, the hamster in the room died suddenly. They thought it died of natural causes and went out and got another hamster. Same thing happened. If it kills hamsters, I'd hate to think what it does to the lungs of young kids. If I do use it, which I do very rarely, I make sure the room is well ventilated / all the windows and doors are open and no one goes in the room for at least 6 + hours.

That is scary about the hampster. Personally I try to avoid using escess chemicals because esposure can't be good. Maybe if the dog sleeps on the couch put a blanket to cover the area he sleeps and then just toss in the wahs once a week or so. I do love the smell of Frebreeze though and it does make things smell good. I only use it a couple times a year myself.

So you're basically using it like an air freshener? I'm not a fan of febreeze in general, I don't find it useful. For me, if ulpholstery smelled, I'd actually clean it...I just don't think Febreeze works like it says it does. LOL I guess I'm just skeptical. It seems like it's something that covers up the smell...I'm not convinced it does what it says it does. I guess for me, I'm not into smells, so I wouldn't be spraying it daily.
