ok i still need to make 22 buckets for my girls school
and I have the buckets but need to get the things to get them ready
i will add the Reading program name to it
someone Said to use Contact paper but would I be able to use permanent marker on it to mark the room numbers.

anyhow or should I use paper and tacky glue?
what would you use to put on the buckets?

basically I have to decorate 22 ice cream buckets.

(its for buckets for each classroom to put slips of paper in it that the kids each reaad a book and then at the end of the month a drawing per class is held ~more books =more chances to get a name drawn~ and they will win a book its part of our new reading program for outside of school)

Are they metal? You could make magnets, so they could be used over again. Regardless what they're made of, you could also spray paint them! Mask off areas to make them striped, or use star stickers and peel off after painting to make them colorful. Or, buy number stickers and stick them to the bucket according to the room numbers, spray paint and remove stickers. Spray some polyurethane finish on it to seal. Let me know if that's totally off or if it's a valid idea. LOL

Ooh I thought of something else! You could do blown up color copies of children's books (classics, like Little Red Riding Hood or Goldilocks maybe?) and decoupage the buckets, since they are for a reading contest.

Also, if you want to stencil on numbers, buy number stickers and cut them out in squares around the number. Then peel the background sticker off, leaving the number sticker on the sheet. Stick the background sticker to the bucket, and it will be a number stencil. Paint inside and peel sticker off.

I was thinking of stickers, too. And maybe a Sharpie type marker if you have nice hand writing.
