Picture...?

Do you want to do a rod/curtain...or do you want to do more of a valance? You could also do a cornice box (wood or fabric) to hide the rod of curtains, if that look is more appealing.

I know for me...I don't want to see the rod...even if it's a nice one. LOL I had wood cornices (made out of crown molding) at our old house. They looked really nice but it took Dh a loooooong time to make them, although they came out beautifully. So I had blinds, and then white sheers that covered the window and also curtains that I normally kept open to each side of the window. The cornice box covered the rods for the sheers and curtains. It just looked more formal and 'finished' to me.

What is also nice is that you can raise the blinds, all the way to the top of the window...and you can't even tell that they're there - because of the cornice, it's all hidden up above.

A friend of mine...a few years ago, made a bunch of fabric covered cornice boxes for her house and they look AWESOME.

I quickly found a link for a 'visual' but I believe she used a kit she got at Joann Etc

I have blinds with a valance. That's enough for me. We have such a goergous view, I don't want to detract from it with curtains hanging.
