Default Do you use different colors in each room or does your house have a theme?

I was wondering...do the rooms in your house each have a different color palate or if they all use similar colors?

The reason I ask is we are replacing our carpet with lamenate tomorrow (YIPPEE!). In our living room, we will need to get a large rug and some new curtains as the current stuff is at the end of it's life. I want to put red curtains in there, but I already have red curtains in the kitchen (which is the room attached to the living room) and our bedroom. But we both love the curtains I found in red! I was thinking of green, but I'm not sure I would still like the curtains in that color. Would it be weird for 3 out of six of my rooms to have red curtains and stuff?

I don't think it would be weird at all...I think you can definately do different things in different rooms.

Not strange at all. In fact, in college, my friend rented an apartment from a woman that was going into design of some sort and she made every room in this place a different color (she was experimenting I guess) and it was too much. None of the rooms went together because they were all so different.

Do what you love. We have the same color in our living room & sunroom (a really warm sage green - called fern moss). Then we have another color in our kitchen, hallway, baths, & laundry (a warm taupe/tan color). These two colors coordinate as they all come into contact with each other in the main part of the house. The only rooms that are distinctly different are our bedrooms, mine is neutral (indian ivory), the one the girls share is a bubble gum pink (top) & lime green (bottom), & the third - which we use as a playroom is sky blue with scenes painted (flowers on one wall, horses & a barn on another, & an apple tree on another). I think all that matters is what you like.

My rooms are all different colors. The upstairs is all wild & crazy... the downstairs is country & calm!

My rooms all have different colors upstairs and downstairs they are all the same color except for my DD's room. I also don't have any specific theme to my rooms. I just paint and decorate with whatever makes me feel comfortable.
