Do you have a schedule that you follow daily and is it for just you or for your family? We have some in our household who really hate the idea of list, schedules , organizing etc...
I know when I had ont that I followed I got alot more done and finished alot more stuff, and just not going at something ( blind or in the dark ) so to speak .

just curious as I said in another post I am working on a new schedule cause I think that we need on an not just a broad spectrum on I have a toddler and a freshman in highschool ( that does everything extra curricular) , hubby is a contractor, and I work nights ( tried days family almost fell apart didnt handle it well at all , but I am not a morning person so I wasnt overjoyed about getting up at 4 am every morning , I am fine if I have been up all night til 4 but waking up that early ( yuck) so anywho you can see we better get a schedule going...

Hi Gena,

The nanny and all professionals will tell you that kids behave better when there is a schedule and they know what to expect. Yes, life happens and it falls apart but if you can a schedule does work out.

We have an evening schedule from the time dad gets home till bed. It also spells out who is in charge of the DS while the other is doing things. I get 1/2 hour for pilates each nite and DH has son. He get 1/2 hour when he comes in for beer and email, then dinner, then DH works with DS in the program while I exercise, then swim in the pool, then bath, story and bed. It works.

Good luck, April

We call them routines at our house! I have one I follow and so do the kids! We just starting really working on it since they started school. I hop we can follow through and make it work this time. I get so much more done with a routine than if I don't!!

I have found that doing a little bit around the house everyday works really well for me. I feel like I have accomplished something (because I have!), the house stays clean (I still have toys laying around, but that comes with having children), I have time for myself, and I have quality time with the girls. And best of all, I usually don't feel guilty. I have found the Flylady.net website VERY helpful in getting a routine set up.

Good Luck!

I have a list to help keep me motivated to get everything done or my house work would never get done. I broke the house down into sections and clean a little each day.
Monday I clean the entry, bath, hall, kitchen, and both upstairs bathrooms.
Tuesday I straighten all the above and clean diningroom, nursery, and upstairs hall.
Wed I straighten the above and clean livingroom, stairs, DD's room
Thurs I straighten the above and clean DS's room and my room. Finish up laundry.
Friday straighten whole house and clean back porch.
Now that is my list I have to say I very rarely make it to Friday's ambitious goals. But it keeps me hopping. With 3 in school and 2 at home plus all the activities they do. I think I do very well.

we have a schedule, especially since my MIL and FIl are diabetic, so dinner has to be at a certain time and no later, then bath time, then bedtime at a set time. certain days to shop, certain days for laundry. I work so if there was no schedule I would go crazy!
