For toys, baby gear, stuff like that? I usually do- I think they have better resale value if you have the box. But the boxes take up tons of space and lately I've been thinking: do I really need to keep these? Dh would be thrilled to pitch them. I would be happier without towers of empty boxes hagning around. Opinions?

No I don't...but then I also don't e-bay. So if you do and you plan on re-selling those Items, maybe just fold up the boxes and store them in a larger one.

No, I don't. I also don't re-sale, I just handed it down to my nephew or trash it.

i would just flatten them and stick them in one certain area in the basement or attic or a closet.

not anymore, I used to be so worried about resale but I'm finding that things sell just as well with it in a tote! I hear people comment about toys "oh, that's nice does the container come with it." Look...there is already a container with this one"

I buy cheap $1 containters or wallmart containers. I just got sick and tired of having all the boxes around. After we got through the infant stage and I resold the stuff or gave it away I stopped trying to keep the boxes. If it needed to be contained or had lots of pieces then it went in a container and there was no point in keeping the box. Board games being the exception.

I did before, but no longer. I, too, wanted it for resale value, then found it really didn't make a difference. Now I've decided to donate, rather than search for buyers (I have a barely used $60 Jumperoo and can't unload it), so the boxes won't really matter, anyway.

No, I figure after 3 kids the box does not make much of a difference. I have kept a few, like the shopping cart cover, breast pump, certain things you may want to read the package about. I have kept all the instructions so I can look up if an item was recalled before I want to get rid of it.

Oh, another thought. My SIL worked many years at Toys R Us. She did suggest keeping boxes until the warranty is up. She said especially with Leap Pads. Something to do with the pens not working. But now you can buy a replacement pen in the store so maybe that doesn't matter anymore.

Some of the toys that we have, like a race track, would look just like a pile of junk unless you could see a picture of it assembled. I guess I could just take a picture and tape it to a container so anyone receiving the toy (buying it or through giveaway) would know what it was and what it was supposed to look like. Hmm... have to think about this....
