I do...always have..but a friend sold me some of her daughter's outgrown clothes this weekend..and they looked NEW. She said she never dries anything more than 15 minutes..just to get the "soaking wet" out of them. After that, she hangs EVERYTHING. With eight of us in my house, I would have to have the entire downstairs as a hanging spot, so I am not so sure I could even attempt this. Seeing how nice and new her clothes looked, though, I am seriously thinking on this.

We usually dry the clothes in the dryer. I use to hang up the boys jeans to prevent shrinking. Like you say it sounds like a good idea, I wonder how long it would take for all the clothes to dry, and I would have alot hanging up in the basement.LOL

I don't hang dry often these days, i did more when i was diapering full time.
if you decide to, it's best to hang outside when possible, for one, the sun can help get out stains, but also with damp things in an inclosed space such as basement it an get smelling really musty.
oh yea, it takes about 3-10 hrs for the clothes to dry (depending on the weight of the item and how damp they are) it can take longer sometimes, but rarely, and then it's only been wear the clips were holding

nope.... I dry everything. It feels so much nicer on my skin, I have really sensitive skin and my mom growning up use to hang dry everything and it was so crusty feeling. I hated it. Sometimes the sun would discolor some shirts also. I think if I would to do it I would hang them and then finish them in the dryer. I just woudl forget tho I just don't have the time to be hanging clothes also.

The hot temp in the dryer really does shrink, fade, ruin elastic.... I like to hang my stuff after 10-15 minutes in the dryer, but mostly shirts and pants. I decided that the undies, sock, towels, etc are just going to have to take their chances in the dryer. Hanging socks just takes too much of my time. I would rather spend it on other things. So I try to pull the big stuff out of the dryer after 10 minutes or so and then the rest keep going. But you do have to hang around the dryer to do this... I haven't found a perfect system

I don't really get a chance to hang dry outside here because of the extreme sunlight and out-of-nowhere torrential downpours that occur in the afternoons. I hang delicates in the utility room, that's about it. We have 6 in our house, and like yours, there's no way I could do indoor hanging in such small quarters. But it's definitely something to consider if we ever move.

I dry everything....I dont like how the clothe smell on the clothes after being hung outside...and the sun fading them...so I just dry it all.

Everything goes into the dryer at my house. However, drying times vary. Socks, undies, play clothes stay in the dryer until dried. All others dry for about 10-15 minutes and then I hang them on hangers in my laundry room. I had my dh put up 2 clothes bars suspended from the ceiling that I hang things up on hangers. I also have a dehumidifier in my basement so that prevents the musty smell in the summer plus helps to dry the items hanging.

Everything goes in the dryer here. With all the new settings on the dryer, I can air dry in record time! I don't have the patience to air dry!!! (I know that surprises many of you! LOL)

With 6 in the house I don't have the patience or energy to hang dry everything. There are a few shirts of dh's that he doesn't like dried and a few delicate fabrics such as my dd dance uniform but overall we dry everything else.
