Hello ladies! I am helping jnbythesea start up a twice monthly project to help us all get and stay organized. These are larger projects that generally cannot be completed in one day so we will stretch each of them out two weeks to lessen the burden on everyone involved. We are going to jump in feet first today with the first project!:D

-The Ebay Area-

A lot of us ladies either dabble on Ebay or sell for a living, and we ALL know how unorganized our Ebay areas can become over time. Organizing this zone of our home will make working and living around the items we are selling much more enjoyable for everyone in the household.

The first assignment is...Ditching the Dead Weight!!! Look around the area or areas that you "Ebay" and be ruthless. Get rid of things you thought you would sell but didn't, things you listed but never sold ( I give items two listings, and if they don't sell after the second then they get tossed or donated ). Empty boxes that are lurking in corners with forgotten items that never got a nice new home. Don't forget to include items that you never got around to cleaning up, fixing, or mending. If you haven't done it by now...you probably never will.

You are also looking for other random "Ebay Supplies" and toss them as well. Some good examples are:

-Boxes in sizes you don't ever use or don't use often. Either recycle them or break one or two of them down and store in the garage. Some usual suspects are teeny tiny boxes or really large ones.

-Priority mail boxes, envelopes, bags, and other priority supplies. If you don't normally ship priority then only keep a few on hand and take the rest back to the post office. Try not to just toss them if they are still in good shape because, remember, our tax dollars pay for them.

-Packing materials and other items that are not in good condition. Go through drawers and shelves and get rid of bubble wrap that doesn't have air in the bubbles anymore, envelopes that have gotten crumpled in the corner, black markers that don't write any more, pens with no ink, labels that are in bad shape, etc.

Lastly...take anything that doesn't belong in this area and return it to it's home. I once found that my dd had been sticking "surprises" in my ebay boxes.

It probably doesn't look that different but you should feel a sense of accomplishment. Tomorrow we will have a two day assignment that will start to organize what is left.

Good Luck! And, please report here what kinds of things you tossed if you have time.:D

Urg! My ebay is also in my closet room! Where my sewing is also and all my clothes and everything else. I will have to take on the entire room to find the ebay stuff. Ok, this is a good idea. I am on it! Thanks for the kick in the arse!

You go! It is not doing you ANY GOOD if you can't even find it to sell it. Be sure to report back and let us know what you toss.:D

Here are a few things I got rid of.

-stack of insurance forms for the P.O., I usually do online labels through paypal so I never need these forms anymore. If I do need them I am at the PO anyway so I will just get it then. These went into the "take back to the post office" pile.

-6 priority mail flat rate boxes, I don't ship priority all the time, but I do occasionally so I am taking these back. I kept 5 of each of the two different types.

-two teeny boxes that I will NEVER use.

-I found a few boxes hiding at the bottom of the "current" item stack that had items that didn't sell the second time around so I emptied them and put the contents in the donate pile.

Let us know what you find!:D :D :D

Ok, Wow, I had to fight my way into the room but it is done! I have had to put away all my clean clothes, put my closet back together since DH was in there firing up Hot water heater. I found my beautiful wedding dress if anyone needs on in champagne. It is from Lord and Taylor's about 15K. It is so pretty but what can I do with it now?

I put all my sewing in a pile and will do it this week. I rolled all my fabric up and put them in the cabinet. I took out all the things in the cabinet and then reorganized. I filed all the papers in the file cabinet. I put my boxes of ebay in the closet where I can't see them, except for one. Does that count? I really need to list the clothes for fall and winter. I put all the boxes envelopes etc in order by size and took an inventory of tanning bed lotions.

2 hours later, my room is almost clean. I am having to have my winter clothes out with my summer clothes right now so things are crazy for my clothes. We are leaving for Walt Disney World in 16 days so I need my summer clothes out. Also it is in the low 70's right now so I think it is great outside and wear shorts. When we get back there will snow on the mountains, I hope.

Well I did it! Good luck to everyone else.

HA HA HA HA HA HA, ok had to get that out of the way!!!!

My ebay room is exactly what it says, a room, actually the loft in our house. We have probably 15-20 bins full of ebay stuff, 3 bookshelves covered in ebay stuff and a few things laying here and there! I will need a day or two to go through all of it! But seriously, I do need to get better organized because I need to start listing the 30-50 halloween costumes that should be listed in the next 2 weeks. Motivate me please!!!!!
