Make a one page financial crib sheet.

List bank accounts you have and where they are
List where to find your check book, tax returns and will
List where to find personal documents (birth certificates, marriage licenses)
List your contact people- lawyer, tax accountant, family members

There is no need to list every account number- just put down your social security number; that will get you access in case of emergency

Give one copy to your lawyer or best friend, keep one at home, and send one to a relative or friend who lives out of town.

This should not take too long and can be a life saver in case of emergency!
