I let my ds choose his accent color. I did a grid pattern on one of the walls and the grids are different shades of his chosen color (red). The other three walls are neutral. That way, his chosen color isn't overwhelming.

I let dd choose, she chose pink of course and then we narrowed it down to 3 shades and she picked.

she was going to have orange, and I was fine with that too

maybe since it is such a bright color, paint one or two walls, that way it is not overwhelming!

let us know and post a pic!

I'd let him choose. I think it sounds like a fun room for a little boy.

I always let the kids choose their theme for their room. Dd found a comforter set she dearly loved, then wanted to use those colors on her walls in blocks. She's very artsy, and it fit her style.

I let my kids choose, however my DD-8 wanted a lime green room, so we did the wall that her headboard is against in the lime and painted the rest a complimentary lighter shade. It turned out great and we all like it!

we let our boys 4 and 11 choose - the 4 yr old picked flame orange red- LOL when it was painted and nothing was in it yet it looked like you had a jessica simpson spray tan LOL- but he loves it! The 11 year old picked out a goldish color-
so now we have a Lightening Mcqueen room and a vintage movie theme room-
The kids love thier rooms and they stay clean

I have to Wonder Why anyone would Not let their Child Choose!

It is Their Bedroom After all

And it is just paint Not anything that can't Be remedied easily.

My Kids all chose their Color about 3 yrs. ago , And one of those was a Lime green Chosen By DD, And None of the kids have changed Yet!!

We don't repaint the kids Rooms much , And We buy their Bedding and Curtains to Coordanite- so they know whatever color they choose , They will be looking at it for years.

Oh, I just wanted to add that when we went to our niece's dd's first communion we saw their new house and her son (5 maybe) had his room painted a bright green like that. I thought it was cute!!

My parents let my siblings and I choose. At my house, we're not afraid of color.... red dining room, lime green living room, blue with a beach mural nursery, etc. So - we took 2 year old DS with us to Lowe's to pick out the paint color of his big boy room. The paint chip card read "LEAP FROG GREEN." It is bright - but he likes it and proudly shows off his green big boy room.

If a few years down the road he decides another color... no biggie! It is his space.
