I took a bandana, tied it on my son's head like a pirate would, and pinned a large shower curtain ring at the spot where it covered his ear, so it looked like an earring. I took an old T-shirt and made a big ruffle for the front of it with some left over batiste and some bits of really cheap lace I got at a yard sale. He wore black pajama pants, black snow boots and carried a toy sword.
