Star Wars Party

by Deb Bruemmer

Just wanted to tell you about my 9 year old's STAR WARS party.....it was fun and affordable. I first found an entire Darth Maul costume discontinued at a store for $5 , so he got a dress-up outfit for the party, as well as a Halloween costume...all my party goods with the Star Wars theme were also on clearance so I walked out of the store spending only $13.00....not bad, huh?

I also planned to have the kids watch the movie Star Wars but they declined. We did have the soundtrack play in the background for effect.

We sent the invitations, requesting all to dress as a Star Wars character. I wrote up a menu to place on the table: Space Dog Doggies (hot dogs) with Crater Cubes (cheese) and Space Balls (cheese balls) and Light Saber Pretzel Rods pretzel rods dipped in orange candy melts with silver ball candies...Galactic Punch, etc. Then, I made my own cake, topped with a dracula face that I converted into Darth Maul with red and black piped icing, and circled the cake with some SW figurines. I was told it was the bomb... and the toys doubled as another gift for the birthday boy! They all seemed to have a great time entertaining themselves so I only played one game: Mad Libs. Each numbered a paper 1-10 and questions were asked. .. 1. name a planet , etc then after all 10 were asked I switched the questions and they used the answers they had written down...ex. name a planet became "where were you born".....they laughed a lot at the answers and it was the perfect age to do this activity.

Goodie Bags were easy to fill.....lots of Star Wars stickers, candy, Halloween pencils, and SW micro machines. My son claims its his best party ever!
