Frugal Craft Ideas: Decorative Soap Balls
DECORATIVE SOAP BALLS
1 bar soap
3 Tbsp. water
1 to 3 drops food coloring
1 to 2 drops essential oil (if desired)
Grate soap. Mix water and food coloring; bring to a boil in saucepan. Add soap; lower heat and stir rapidly for 2 minutes until all shavings are colored. (Will be consistency
of clay.) Add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance, such as vanilla, lavender, or sandalwood. Form balls. Spray molds with non-stick cooking spray. Mold while warm.
May be reheated if becomes difficult to work with. Note: 1 bar soap makes 3 to 4 shapes, depending on size.
