Family's Names and Ages:
Gracie--7 years
Anne Marie--4 years

Job Title:
Associate Lecturer

Job Description:
Though not a completely work-at-home position, I teach courses part-time at a local university.  I work two evenings per week for a total of about 8 hours per week away from home.  I work only about 30 weeks out of the year.

How I Started My Business:
I obtained my position through professors I had known as an undergrad.  I have only a Master's degree in my field, but you can teach part-time with a Master's at most universities.

My Typical Work Schedule:
As I previously mentioned, I am away from home only 8 hours per week, 30 weeks out of the year.  At home in the evenings (when kiddos are sleeping) I prep lectures and grade assignments and tests.

What I Love About My Job:
I get to use my degree, talk among adults, feel that I am contributing financially to my family, and still be away only minimally.  Also, I do not teach in the summer!  My husband is home in the evenings, so we do not need to have a sitter.

Challenges I Face:
During the school year, since my kids are not both in school yet, I work on grading and such in the evenings.  When I am teaching a new course it can be taxing to prepare the materials for the first time.

Tips and Advice:
Make a phone contact with a local university professor in your desired area to see if lecturers are needed.
