Chocolate Acorn Treats - Adorable and so easy! Make with Hershey Kisses

Cooking with Kids: Chocolate Acorn Treats

Chocolate acorn treats are not only delicious, they’d look great on any fall table or even as a at your Thanksgiving dinner.   Since no cooking is required, they’re great to make with younger kids.  Here’s what you’ll need:

Chocolate Acorn Treats

  • Mini Nilla Wafers
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses
  • Butterscotch or Peanut Butter Morsels
  • Peanut Butter (if you’re concerned with peanut allergies, you can substitute frosting for the peanut butter)

Making chocolate acorn treats couldn’t be easier. Simply use peanut butter as the glue that holds the pieces together.  First, lay the Mini Nilla Wafers rounded side up on a plate.  Using a butter knife, dab a little peanut butter on the morsel and place it on top to create the acorn cap.  Next, dab a little peanut butter on the flat side of the cookie.  Place the Hershey’s Chocolate Kiss on it to create the nut part of the acorn.

These are adorable and so easy! They can also be made with chocolate frosting and bits of pretzel sticks for the stem if peanut allergies are a concern.

Can they be stored in the fridge for a couple days? I don’t want the cookies to get gross

They don’t need to be refrigerated. Just keep them away from moisture.
