Elf on the Shelf Accessories

Elf on the Shelf Accessories

Looking for some fun Elf on the Shelf Accessories?  Sometimes it’s as easy as looking around the house.  We’ve got some ideas for homemade, frugal as well as licensed “Elf” merchandise to add to the fun (and magic!) of your elf on the shelf tradition.  Click on the links to see photos of the ideas (thanks to our readers for sharing their Elf on the Shelf photos in our Elf on the Shelf Photo Gallery).

Elf on the Shelf Accessories at The Store

  • Look for the Elf on the Shelf accessories at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael’s.  For example, Hobby Lobby has a line of holiday decorations called A Tree for Me that features small, mini-sized ornaments that can also be used as Elf on the Shelf accessories.
  • Silly String, especially Glow-in-the-Dark Silly String is fun for elf mischief.

Elf on the Shelf Accessories at Home

  • If you have Barbie dolls at home, their furniture, cars, houses and clothes could also double as Elf on the Shelf accessories.  You can even have your elf decorate the dollhouse!
  • Do you have Star Wars figurines?  Use them and a glow-stick as an Elf Lightsaber.
  • Have holiday nutcrackers?  These holiday nutcrackers have captured an elf!
  • Your elf may enjoy hanging out in your nativity set.
  • It’s funny what your elf can do in a roll of toilet paper!
  • Elves may need to work out after eating all those holiday goodies.
  • A DVD, bowl of popcorn and Barbie complete this elf’s date night.
  • A styling head, brush and makeup can get an elf into trouble.
  • Your elf can have loads of fun with your copier
  • Elves can go bowling with marshmallows and a tiny ball
  • Those mini-marshmallows are also great for an elf bubble bath!

DIY Elf on the Shelf Accessories

  • These elves fashioned a elf-sized cornhole game out of tiny boxes.
  • A Kleenex Box doubles as a bed for your elf!
  • A straw and bobbin make a terrific elf on the shelf fishing pole
  • Use Cheerios to make little donuts for your elf
  • Make an elf zip line out of yarn or string
