Christmas Breakfast Recipe: Santa & Reindeer Pancakes

December 13, 2011 by Susie Chadwick 1 Comment

Christmas Breakfast: Santa PancakeMy kids helped me make these fun Santa and Reindeer pancakes to celebrate Christmas!   We made the pancakes from scratch (see recipe below), but you could use a mix, or even premade frozen pancakes as the base of your Santa Pancakes.

To make Santa Pancakes you need:

  • pancakes
  • strawberries
  • chocolate chips
  • whipped cream
  • your imagination!
My daughter asked for a Reindeer Pancake instead – so we made one!  We used whipped cream for the antlers, and made a mouth out of chocolate chips.

Christmas Breakfast: Reindeer PancakePancake Recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • chocolate chips (optional)

Sift together the dry ingredients, and blend the wet ingredients.  Mix dry and wet ingredients together.  Add a little more milk if the batter is too thick.

Pour batter in circles on a hot griddle.  Sprinkle batter with chocolate chips.  Flip the pancakes when the bubbles on top of the pancake have popped.

Update: Every morning since we made these, my kids have been begging for pancakes. Today we made Snowmen Pancakes!
