Easiest Ever Fall Craft: Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkin

September 28, 2011 by Kimberly Danger 1 Comment

halloween pumpkin craft toilet paper rollhalloween pumpkin craft toilet paper rollAn easy, decorative Halloween pumpkin can be made out of a roll of toilet paper, orange fabric and an inexpensive piece of craft foam.   It’s so simple your preschooler will be able to make one!  Here’s how:

Cut the orange fabric into a square about the size of a bandanna.  Tuck the fabric into one end of the toilet paper roll  (you may want to “pad” the pumpkin with Polyfil to make it look bigger).  Cut a 2-3 inch piece of green or craft foam in a strip, roll it up and place it in the center as a stem.  Add a twisted green pipe cleaner on top to look like a stem.   Cut additional “leaves” out of the craft foam if desired.  Make multiple pumpkins with different shade of orange and gold fabric you buy as remnants on clearance.  When you’re done displaying them after Halloween, simply dis-assemble your pumpkin and save the fabric and foam in a zippered bag to-reuse again next year.
