Easter Craft for Preschoolers: Spring Chick

March 26, 2011 by Susie Chadwick 1 Comment

Look at this Easter Chick craft my preschooler made all by herself!  I was inspired when I saw this craft idea used for scissor practice on I Can Teach My Child.  If there’s any crafty skill my preschooler needs to practice, it’s using scissors.

I traced all the shapes onto construction paper for her, and showed her how to use the scissors.  Then I patiently helped her practice cutting the shapes out.  She got pretty good if I helped hold the paper.

She folded the beak in half and did all the gluing on her own.  We were both very proud of the finished craft.  What a cute little Easter chick.

I love how you made the beak 3-dimensional with the fold! What a great idea! Thanks for the link. 🙂
