Goldfish Puffs - Teen Snacks

Are you searching for some fun teen snacks now that school is out for the summer?  My kids have always been fans of regular Goldfish snacks for a long time, so I was excited when I recently discovered these new Goldfish Puffs at Target.  Because of their larger size and spicier flavors, they appeal to tweens and teens who grew up eating regular Goldfish crackers.  They’re not just for kids: I like them too!

Goldfish Puffs are just $2.99 and GLUTEN-FREE.  According to the Goldfish Smiles Facebook Page, the larger bags are sold exclusively at Target, and the smaller snack bags are being sold at Walgreens.  They come in three flavors:  Mega Cheese, Cheddar Bacon, and Buffalo Wing.  Have any questions about the product?  You can reach out to them on Twitter with the handle:  @GoldFishSmiles.  My store was completely sold out of the Cheddar Bacon flavor, so I got the Buffalo Wing and Mega Cheese packs pictured above (view my entire Google + Album).  My daughter and her friends devoured the Mega Cheese bag.  I think the Buffalo Wing was a little too spicy for them, but it was my own personal favorite.

Teen Snacking Strategies

In order to keep the kids well-fed during the summer, we organize our snacks in a “snack drawer” in the kitchen.  When they need something to munch on, they’re free to grab what’s in the drawer.  We also have a container of fresh fruit and veggies in the refrigerator.  Not quite as popular as the snack drawer, it works well for times when I insist on them eating something a bit more wholesome.  Read our forum responses: Do you have any rules about kids snacking during the summer?

Getting kids involved in snack selection and preparation not only is a great way to teach them about menu planning, it can help keep them busy during summer vacation and relieve some of Mom’s duties.  See how our readers responded:  Snacks Kids Can Make Themselves
