Halloween Party Recipes: “Pumpkin” Deviled Eggs

Halloween Party Recipes: "Pumpkin" Deviled Eggs

Not all Halloween party recipes have to be sweet.  These savory “pumpkin” deviled eggs are an easy, frugal alternative to sugary treats and are sure to be gobbled up in no time.

“Pumpkin” Deviled Eggs

Make your deviled eggs as you normally would (make sure you know how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs).  Add red and yellow food coloring to your egg mixture to achieve the orange color.  Sprinkle paprika on top.   Use a sharp knife to create a striated look for the pumpkin.   Cut a single lettuce or spinach leaf into thin strips for the pumpkin stems.   View our forum members’ deviled eggs recipes

A melon baller or piping bag could be used to have a more uniform, clean look.  I could have made these look even better had I taken the time to wipe the whites of the eggs.
